As the sunlight is coming from the rear the front of the flowers is likely to get blacked out.
As the position of the camera has to be at a closer range using a flash directly will whiten up the frontage, giving glare, spoiling the sunlight effects and ruining the original colors.
Flash is used with a diffuser to light up the top view.
